About Zac
Zachary Parsons is the Founding Shareholder of Colorado Legal PLLC and was born and raised in Glenwood Springs. He is the fifth generation in his family to live in Western Colorado. Zachary owns a home in Glenwood Springs. His siblings, parents, and grandparents also reside in the area. As a child he lived in Gunnison, and then Silt, before his family came back to Glenwood Springs. He graduated from Glenwood Springs High School, and has called Western Colorado home his entire life.
Experience
Spending the majority of his legal career as a Prosecutor, Zachary served the People of the Ninth Judicial District (Rio Blanco, Garfield, and Pitkin Counties) for his entire legal career. At first, he split time between the County Courts in Rangely and Glenwood Springs. His primary focus was prosecuting felony crimes, and he worked hard to ensure some sense of earthly justice for victims of violent crime. Described by some as a masterful trial lawyer, Zachary has secured numerous convictions and positive litigation outcomes. He also coaches the Glenwood Springs High School Mock Trial Team; it is not lost on him the importance of giving back to the next generation, just as generations before did for him.
Education
Zachary graduated Cum Laude from Pepperdine University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science as well as in Philosophy, and completed a Marketing minor. While at Pepperdine he was the three time parliamentary debater of the year, and placed second in the nation in 2010. He also completed an internship with the White House and the United States Department of Agriculture, while spending a year in the nation’s capital. His time as an intern in the Bush Administration left a lasting impression on him, and the lessons learned helped shape his philosophy of governance.
Zachary attended law school at Vanderbilt University, where he earned a Juris Doctorate, and a certificate in Law and Business (including Corporate Valuations). While attending law school he co-founded a political technology company. Zachary designed the algorithm driving the company’s political matchmaking technology and served as the Chief Executive Officer until relocating back to Colorado to take the bar and then join the Office of the District Attorney.
